Monthly Update #14

It’s been a while since our last Monthly Update, and over the past two months, the team has been hard at work on several major systems and feature upgrades. This update focuses heavily on game stability, fairness, and long-term playability, especially in preparation for the upcoming CBT2.

Let’s dive into what we’ve been building.

Replay System & Anti-Cheat Overhaul

To ensure a fair and trustworthy experience in the upcoming CBT2, we decided to move one of our originally planned CBT3 features forward: a fully re-architected anti-cheat system based on server-side replay verification.

Every battle is now replayed and validated on the server to detect abnormal behavior and eliminate cheating at its source. This system required rebuilding a large part of the underlying workflow and infrastructure, which is why it took a significant amount of development time.

The good news: the system is now fully implemented.
Going forward, we’ll continue monitoring, iterating, and responding to cheating behavior to protect every player’s progress and ensure a competitive, fair environment.

Reconnection

During the last test, we received a lot of feedback about disconnect issues inside dungeons. After exploring multiple technical approaches, the team successfully solved single-player dungeon reconnection.

Now, if a player disconnects during a solo dungeon, the game will automatically reconnect them and resume the battle. This greatly improves stability and prevents unnecessary progress loss.

Legendary Weapon Crafting

Players can now forge Legendary Weapons.
Legendary Weapons are the only legendary-tier equipment in RuneHero, with attributes that significantly surpass all other gear. They represent the pinnacle of power in the current version and are designed to be long-term goals for dedicated players.

PvEvP Iteration & Improvements

We’ve continued iterating on the PvEvP mode, with several key improvements:

  • Respawn Points Added: After death, players will now respawn at a randomly selected nearby respawn point.

  • Death Drop Optimization: Equipment drop logic has been adjusted to prevent extreme bad luck scenarios where too many items are lost at once.

  • Improved Monster Spawning: After a certain amount of time, a Boss will now spawn at a random location near the center of the map. Defeating it rewards players with rare ores, encouraging conflict and exploration.

These changes aim to make PvEvP more intense, but also fair and strategically interesting.

Arcane Crystal Rental

Players can now rent out Arcane Crystals through the marketplace.
Other players may rent them for a fixed duration, after which the crystals are automatically returned to the owner. This system allows asset holders to earn passive income while lowering the entry barrier for others.

Soul Shard Trading

Soul Shards can now be sold directly on the marketplace.
Buyers can purchase them using USDT on-chain, further strengthening RuneHero’s player-driven economy and on-chain trading loop.

New Hero Design

We’re continuously expanding the hero roster to offer more diverse gameplay experiences.
This month, we began designing a new Archer hero—a deadly ranged combatant who specializes in crushing enemies with precise and powerful arrows.

More details about this hero will be revealed in future updates.

Closing Thoughts

These past two months were heavily focused on infrastructure, stability, and fairness. While some of this work happens behind the scenes, it lays the foundation for a much stronger experience in CBT2 and beyond.

Thank you for your patience and continued support. We’re excited to show you what all this groundwork enables in the next phase of RuneHero.

See you in the battlefield.
